2011-2012 Palmetto Silver Awards
Lancaster High School is the recipient of two South Carolina Department of Education Palmetto Silver Awards. LHS received awards for both general achievement and for closing the achievement gap. The awards program is designed to recognize and reward schools that attain high levels of absolute academic performance and schools that attain high rates of improvement.
Soccer Teams Recognized for Excellence
The Lancaster High boys and girls soccer teams received national recognition for their academic success during last school year — only 61 schools across the nation received honors for both their boys and girls teams. The average GPA for the Lancaster High girls team was 4.4, and the average GPA for the boys team was 3.4.

LHS Junior Civitans
International Club of the Year

At the International Convention in Birmingham, AL, the LHS Jr. Civitan Club was named International Club of the Year, won Environmental Project of the Year and Ongoing Campaign of the Year. Brandon Craig was selected as Junior Civitan of the Year and Richie Harper was selected as Club Officer of the Year. The club also was awarded third place Campus Project of the Year and Honor Club of Distinction.
