The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship program offers $2,000 college scholarships to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. The scholarships are sponsored by the AXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AXA Advisors, LLC. The 2014 program will be accepting applications from October 15, 2013 until 10,000 applications are submitted or 11:59 p.m. CST on February 1, 2014, whichever comes first. This local scholarship requires that the recipient teach for one year in Lancaster County for each year that he/she receives the scholarship. If the student does not pursue teaching, then the money from the scholarship MUST be repaid. Applications are availabale in guidance or online.

DL 03-15 SC State Fair Scholarship
Fifty $1500 scholarships will be awarded to SC seniors. Prospective scholars will be judged on overall school performance and involvement, as well as extracurricular activities, communication skills and aptitude for completion of the application. CLEMSON UNIVERSITY ONLY: The student must be a Lancaster County resident, must have been accepted, and must plan to enroll at Clemson as a full-time student. The student must complete the scholarship application and include a copy of his/her CU acceptance letter. The student must also include a 250-word essay, describing why he or she should receive this scholarship. DL 04-15 Tri-County Golf Foundation Book Scholarship
$500 book scholarship, awarded to one senior in each of the three counties (Chester, Lancaster, and York) 3.5 GPA on the SCUGS. Awarded for academic distinction, as well as strong character and personal qualities. Applicaations are available in Guidance.
DL 04-22 Student-View Scholarship
"Scholarship" awarded via random drawing; applicants must fill out 20 min. survey about local colleges; one $4K, two $1K, and eight $500 scholarships given; log onto www.student-view.com to complete survey and place your name in contention for the scholarship. The company sells the survey results to local colleges who, in turn, respond to students whose information matches their target student profile.

These scholarships are awarded in memory of a Winthrop University professor who, along with her two-year-old daughter, died in a car accident.
